Psychological Counselling

Practitioners at Three Lions Psychology and Consutling utilise a range of approaches to therapy and incorporate appropriate interventions from therapeutic models (Behavioural, Cognitive, Humanistic) to meet the client’s needs. Each practitioner has their own unique skill set.

Individual counselling is available in-person, at the Three Lions clinic location, or online via zoom for those clients in rural or regional areas who are unable to access psychological services locally.

Clients do not need a referral from a GP to engage in therapy with Three Lions Psychology & Consulting; however, if clients have a referral from a GP, they are eligible to receive a Medicare rebate for a portion of the session fee. Bulk-billing is not available at Three Lions Psychology and Consulting.

 


The Counselling Session

The duration of most counselling sessions is 50 minutes. Developing the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of effective counselling. The first session focuses on developing the therapeutic relationship and discussing the following:

  • What are the issues that the client wants to discuss?
  • What are the client’s initial goals for counselling?

Follow-up sessions focus on working together to achieve the clients counselling goals.

Fees

Doctor (GP) Referral

If you have been referred by a doctor and have a Mental Health Treatment Plan, you are eligible for a Medicare rebate to assist with the payment for up to 10 sessions per year:

Fees for Worksafe or TAC clients may vary from the above rates and are based on the recommended service rates for each as outlined by the service regulators. NDIS funded clients will be invoiced personally and can then forward to their case-manager for payment.

 

Please Note:

  • Fees are payable as soon as possible.
  • Payments to be made by direct deposit. No cash payments accepted.
  • If you are eligible for a Medicare rebate, please ensure that your bank details are up to date with Medicare as your rebate will be reimbursed by Medicare and deposited into your account with 48 hours from the time that you have paid for your appointment in full.
  • Cancellation fees are applicable if less than 24 hours’ notice is given, or you do not attend.
  • No Bulk Billed appointments are available at this service
